Standard batting cage netting is not designed to be installed ‘trampoline tight’ so it allows some push-through from baseballs and softballs. That’s the reason is we recommend keeping your netting at least a foot away from walls, three feet away from delicate objects like light fixtures and windows, and five feet away from spectators. (Read more on batting cage dimensions.)

However, many of our customers are building batting cages in confined areas like basements and garages, where it isn’t always possible to build a batting cage with enough hitting space for for a player and stay the recommended distance away from walls etc.

NetShield is designed to solve that problem in new and existing hitting cages.

What is NetShield?

NetShield is a heavy duty vinyl mesh impact panel for batting cages. The heavy duty construction knocks most baseballs and softballs down almost instantly. Check out this video to see NetShield in action.

Why Use NetShield?

Not only is NetShield great for building a batting cage in a confined space, but it can actually be used in a variety of applications.

NetShield Use #1

This sports facility is primarily used for soccer. The NetShield is perfect for helping to provide additional protection for athletes and coaches outside of the netting. NetShield provides the protection needed to help make single-use facilities multisport facilities, helping to increase revenue.

NetShield Use #2

NetShield can also be used in ShellCages as a ceiling impact nets to help prevent baseballs and softballs from traveling between lanes.

NetShield Use #3

Here, you can see the NetShield being used as added protection in front of windows. Without NetShield, the batting cage net would have to be at least three feet away from the window, greatly reducing the size of the playable area of the cage. With NetShield, the netting can be almost right up against the wall, which allows the cage to more fully utilize the space.

NetShield Use #4

NetShield is a great way to save money when building your cage. Rather than building a cage entirely out of #60 nylon, you can build a #36 nylon cage, and put up a panel of NetShield where you need it to help protect your wall, window, or lights.

NetShield Use #5

You could even build your batting cage entirely out of NetShield. The cost is comparable to building a #60 nylon net, but NetShield is more effective at knocking down baseballs and softballs before they impact your walls, hvac, ceiling, windows or lights.

NetShield Works in a Variety of Batting Cage Applications

If you have a confined area like a basement or garage, NetShield is the perfect solution for maximizing the available space you have to give your player the space they need to hit effectively.

NetShield also works to help make single-sport facilities become multi-sport facilities by providing added protection for players, coaches, and spectators outside the batting cage. It’s also a perfect solution to help prevent baseballs and softballs from traveling between the lanes of ShellCages.

NetShield is Perfect for Existing Basement and Garage Batting Cages

NetShield is a great way to provide added protection in existing cages. If you have a ‘hotspot’ where your player is giving a wall or ceiling a beating, simply hang NetShield to help reduce the damage.
