AVERAGE GRADE / INDOOR-OUTDOOR

Double-Play turf is a good economical option for low-impact areas. It also works well in batting tunnels when combined with a heavy-duty Stance Mat around home-plate & the pitching mound area.

Quick Facts:

  • UV-Inhibitors
  • Constructed from light 25 oz. 1/4" Polypropylene
  • Urethane backing -- works well outdoors or indoors
  • Standard width is 12 ft but seaming services are available

Pros:

  • Won't snag spikes
  • Soft Face - minimizes burns
  • Good econo-option for low-medium impact areas
  • Indoor or out

Cons:

  • Won't withstand high abrasion for long period - main use for soft-shoes
  • Not as tight as weave as Triple-Play with foam - face may get compression marks in high wear areas
  • Not drilled for drainage (can easily be performed after installed using drill or steel poker)

Overall Value Ratings (1-5):

  • Durability (harsh conditions): 2/5
  • Versatility: 3/5
  • Shock absorption: 2/5
  • Price Value: 3.5/5

Final Score: 2.6 / 5.0
