Commercial-Grade Kit (for 55'L or less Single Lane Cage -- Wood header
mounting):

The Commercial Kit is optimal for heavier batting
cage nets spanning between walls or trusses, without center drop-cable support
points.
Our Wall CurtainCages include 3 linear cables which run the same
height as your net. The cables attach to turn-buckles, which attach to eye-bolts
or steel face plates, which anchor into your wall or structure (optional upgrade
to truss/joist brackets available). Steel snaps attach the cable lines to the
top of your tunnel, creating a "curtain effect" - allowing your tunnel to curtain
to either side of your facility, "bungied" up against the wall, approximately
2-3' feet from the wall.
Bottom-Line: A Wall CurtainCage results in less overall
sag and has more of a "boxy" look than a Ceiling CurtainCage, due to the net
being attached directly to the linear cables every 2-3'. Just remember you will
have 3 cables which run overhead at the same height as your net, unless you
remove them each time. If you need to maximize your over-head space, you will
want to consider a Ceiling
CurtainCage or a Wind-Up
Winch CurtainCage.
Base Parts List:
- (3) 60' Rolls of 3/16" Aircraft Cable: Galvanized Coated (Lengthwise attachment)
- (3) Turnbuckles: 9" x 1/2" Jaw-Jaw Galvanized Steel (One end of each cable)
- (12) 3/16" Cable-Clamps: Galvanized Steel (Secures cable ends)
- (6) Steel Wall Plates: 5" x 5" (Use with min of 2"x6" header - eliminates
back-side anchors)
- (55) Steel Snap-hooks - Spring-loaded (Attaches 3 cables to top of net
every 36" for 55' net)
Optional Add-on Items (select from "Related Items" tab):
- Roller Wheels: Helps cables slide smoother, preventing
grooves from wearing in snaps, resulting in snags. The more used, the easier
it will slide.
- Adjustable mounting plates: Allows lines to adjust several
inches vertically after lags have been set. Very useful to compensate for
the sag over the years as the net relaxes.
- 3" x 1/2" LDT Lag Screws: Add to your kit to
minimize trips to the hardware store during installation. Or use your own
lags based on the appropriate application. 4 per plate x 6 = 24 total lags
required for a single lane CurtainCage.
- Additional Steel-Snaps: Add more snaps for a more flush
fit to the cables. More attachment points = less sag. Consider adding enough
snaps for connecting every 12"-24".
- Truss Brackets: Custom designed to fit your ceiling trusses,
creating termination points for lines. Useful when your walls are too far
apart, or they can't handle the high tension loads.
The work done at Practice Sports Inc has been of great quality. Once I gave
them the layout of the area we wanted to install our batting cage in, the
engineer custom made the parts to fit the cage perfectly in our gymnasium.
