What's the difference between twisted and braided?
Twisted netting has a higher abrasion resistance than braided, because twisted has less surface area than braided. This allows the balls to slide and spin off of the surface.
Braided netting typically has a higher overall break-strength. We sell only twisted netting because we value abrasion resistance over breaking strength.
Twisted twine also has a higher density and overall weight when compared to a braided net of equal gauge because braided nets have more space between the fibers than twisted nets.
Twisted nets have more density, more material, and therefore more abrasion resistance; which means a longer life-span than braided nets. This is why we value abrasion resistance over breaking strength when using nets for batting cage systems.
